Giannis Aristotelous

Giannis Aristotelous (b. 1995, Limassol, Cyprus).

Specializes in large-scale paintings, performance, installation and video.

Through his work, Giannis investigates the outcome of several of the strongest human emotions, stablishing a penetrating yet contemplative ‘aftertaste’ within environments.

A visceral notion of the body and its symbolism, absence, longing and the tactility of light, create a shared intimacy between the viewer and work.

The work explores different kinds of intimacy and ephemerality through a deeper understanding of experience of non-tangible experiences of our surroundings.

Art research publications can be found at the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna (MUMOK) and the Nitsch Foundation.
